Tips to Win a Wrongful Death Claim

After the loss of a loved one, our family had to take action quickly to protect our rights to sue for wrongful death. We tried to handle it alone, but we soon found ourselves looking for professional legal help. There were many twists and turns in the legal process that we had not expected. Even though the company was in the wrong, it was not until we got help that we were able to win. I started this blog to help other families who are going through similar situations. With this guide, hopefully no one else has to go through the experience our family suffered.

2 Things To Do Before You Open Your Restaurant

If you are getting ready to start a restaurant, there are a lot of things that you are going to need to do and to have before you can open and start serving customers. Without doing those things, you aren't going to be able to open at all, let alone stay open.

Liquor License

While having a liquor license isn't strictly necessary for your restaurant, you can't serve any alcohol in your restaurant without it. A lot of people don't want to eat without having some kind of alcohol with their meals. People don't want to have to go to your restaurant to get their meal and then someplace else to get their alcohol. They just won't go to your place at all. Getting a liquor license generally involves several things, including paying a fee and making sure that you have the application notarized. You may also have to submit to a criminal history search and having your fingerprints check. If you aren't sure what you need to do, you can contact a lawyer who can help you with the paperwork. You can also check with your state's liquor board. They can tell you what you need and make sure that you have all the appropriate paperwork.

Health Department Inspection

In many places, you will have to have your restaurant inspected by the health department before you open up. They are going to look at a wide variety of things. That includes looking at things like how many sinks you have and how close they are to food prep areas, checking to see how cold your various coolers and freezers are, and to make sure that the water in your dishwasher is hot enough. You will also likely have to go through periodic re-inspections by the health department. That way they will make sure that you are still up to basic standards. If someone complains about your restaurant and reports it to the health department, you will probably get inspected as well, just to check to make sure whether or not the claims made against you are true or false. The health department will go through a checklist when they inspect your house and they will give you that list and will let you know what their findings are.
